CSL INFO MEET RESCHEDULED Côte St. Luc has announced that a "public information session on the multipurpose aquatic centre previously scheduled for Monday, July 26, is now rescheduled to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 30." The meeting will be held at the Côte St. Luc city hall council chamber, at 5801 Cavendish Blvd. HAMPSTEAD AQUEDUCT REPAIRS Hampstead announced last week that the first phase of a "three-part series of rehabilitation repairs to aqueduct mains" began Monday. The first phase of repairs affects: Ferncroft (between Netherwood and Cleve); Belsize (between Holly and Eton Crescent); Applewood (between Netherwood and Applewood Crescent); Aldred Place (between Aldred Crescent and 50 Aldred Place); and Harrow (between 61 Harrow and 21 Harrow). Within the last year, besides Clement, the West Island riding has also hosted fundraising events that included Beauce's MP Maxime Bernier, Calgary Southeast MP Jason Kenney as well as Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Foreign Affairs and MP for Pontiac. NEWS & ANALYSIS Hampstead removes restriction on STM Two councillors disagree with going to court By Joel Goldenberg The Suburban Hampstead council passed a resolution this month allowing buses to turn left on Ellerdale from northbound Queen Mary during the weekday afternoon rush hour, until a court case between the town and the STM transit authority is resolved. But the discussion also revealed a split on council over whether the court case should go ahead at all. The STM is seeking a declaratory judgment relating to Hampstead's call for a change in the 51 bus route. The change proposed would see the westbound 51 turn left from Queen Mary Road onto Stratford, right at Côte St. Luc Road and left at Fielding, thus bypassing the congested Ellerdale-Côte St. Luc Road intersection. Going the other way, the bus would turn right from Fielding onto eastbound Côte St. Luc Road, left at Stratford and right onto Queen Mary.
