NEWS & ANALYSIS Hydro survey bears fruit in St. Laurent By Joel Goldenberg The Suburban The borough of St. Laurent unveiled a new Internet café in its Centre des Loisirs, bought as a result of funding received from Hydro-Québec after 2,336 residents participated in the utility?s Energy Wise Home Diagnostic campaign, which ran from Oct. 10, 2008 to April 9, 2009. For each questionnaire filled out, the municipality received $35 if it was completed online, or $30 if it was completed on paper and mailed or faxed. In the final tally, St. Laurent received a cheque for $74,265. Numerous other municipalities, such as Côte St. Luc, Hampstead, Montreal West, Town of Mount Royal and others, also participated in the Hydro campaign.
